The fees do not cover our summer school, after-school clubs, or field trips.

What are the advantages of the five-day program?
There are many advantages for children in our children’s house program to attend five days. Often parents sign their children up for fewer than five days with the hopes of extending this schedule later in the year. Unfortunately, space fills up very quickly, which prevents children from acquiring desirable schedules after the beginning of the school year. We strongly encourage parents to enroll their child in a five day program at the beginning of a school year.
Benefits of a five-day program include:
- Children are able to assimilate into the classroom much easier without significant gaps in their attendance.
- Five-day attendance substantially minimizes separation anxiety.
- Students in five-day schedules demonstrate quicker progress in their development of academic, social, and independence skills than those attending fewer days per week.
- Ages three to six are critical ages to enhance many skills needed for success in elementary school and beyond. Higher attendance maximizes the potential for children to solidly develop these skills.
- By attending five days, children won’t miss special classes, visitors, social events, and other opportunities.
- Children who attend all week are able to benefit fully from the individualized nature of our programs. When children attend five days, it facilitates teachers to track their development quicker than if they attend periodically. Once a student is presented with a lesson, the teacher relies on the following days to closely monitor the students’ ability to master the material. If there is a significant gap in attendance, this often resets the process as too much time has lapsed between the lesson and practice.
Are there any additional fees?
The New School does not charge an acceptance fee or other annual fee in addition to the tuition. We make every effort to minimize tuition and child care costs for our families. By doing so, we also increase accessibility for enrollment into the school, enabling a more diverse population.
As with most private schools, funds raised from tuition fees cover salaries and basic operational expenses. However, building improvements and enhancement programs and initiatives are not always covered by the basic tuition. Consequently, additional fundraisers are held throughout the year to support these additional areas. Volunteer assistance, fundraisers, and donations are a critical component to keeping our tuition costs down while at the same time maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.
Does the school offer payment plans?
Yes! For families enrolling at the beginning of the year, you may choose either a ten or twelve month payment plan. Payments for a ten month plan begin in July and end in April. For a twelve month plan, payments begin in May and end in April.
If you begin during the course of the school year, arrangements will be made based on your date of entry. In certain circumstances, we may also be able to accommodate an alternate payment plan to assist families in need.
Does the school offer tuition assistance?
Yes. The New School offers tuition assistance to families in need. We strive to provide the opportunity for enrollment in our school to as many families as possible.
We utilize an organization called FAST to provide us with scholarship recommendations based on the financial needs of the families applying. Please visit our Tuition Assistance page for more information.
Is there a sibling discount?
Yes, the school offers a modest discount for families with multiple children enrolling in the school. Families with two children will receive a $100 discount off the annual tuition for each of their children, and families with three children will receive a $200 discount off the annual tuition for each of their children.
Does the school accept credit cards?
As a convenience for our parents, the school now accepts both credit cards and PayPal! However, please note that in order to maintain this service and keep our tuition costs low, the school must pass along the fees associated with these services to the parents using them.
Please visit our Pay Online page for more information. Also, please make sure to read about the associated fees before using this service.
Can I enroll after the start of the school year?
The New School accepts applications throughout the year based on availability. If you are admitted during the year, we will prorate the tuition fees based on your start date.
The New School Inc., does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, or ethnic or national origin in the administration of its educational programs, admissions and hiring policies, or any other rights, privileges, or other school-related activities made available to the students and families at the school.
