Last week our MAP students were delighted by a unique visit from one of our alumni, Josh Camerman. The students enjoyed Josh sharing his experience as a Montessori student transitioning into a public high school.

He explained how what he learned at TNS helped him to adapt this new environment, particularly given how Montessori pedagogy and philosophy differ from that of public education.

Josh described how his confidence, leadership, time management skills and being an independent learner were invaluable in helping to thrive and excel among his peers at a much larger school. He also provided guideposts for students to manage social aspects, and tips on navigating sometimes difficult high school decisions.

The students told the MAP teachers that they really enjoyed Josh’s presentation and by talking with him got an accurate picture high school life.
