Compensation is competitive and depending on experience, and healthcare benefits are provided for full-time positions. Employees with children may receive discounted childcare. Certified Children's House Teacher

Certified Children’s House Teacher

The New School Montessori Center in Holly Springs, North Carolina, is seeking a trained AMS teacher for a Children’s House (3-6) classroom for the 2020-2021 school year. TNS is located 25 minutes from downtown Raleigh and serves over 230 students, infant through 8th grade.

Our ideal candidates are creative, experienced professionals who are passionate about providing an authentic Montessori experience. Candidates should be well versed in Dr. Montessori’s pedagogy for 3-6 education, and be experienced in preparing an environment to meet the developmental needs of this age child. Candidates should also have the ability to coach/mentor classroom assistants.

Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be motivated to be part of a teaching team dedicated to Montessori pedagogy and methods. Each member of our teaching teams must be able to collaborate in lesson planning, student record keeping, classroom management, and parent reports/conferences.

Children's House Teacher's Assistant

Children's House Teacher's Assistant

Ideal candidates for a Children’s House assistant teacher position are creative, experienced, and passionate about serving the developmental needs of young children. Candidates should either hold a credential in Montessori primary education, or be willing to pursue training after employment.

Toddler Teacher

Toddler Teacher

We are seeking a toddler-level Montessori teacher to join our expanding school community. Applicants should either be Montessori certified or completing certification within the next 6 months.

Our teachers have a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, thorough knowledge of child development, and the classroom management and communication skills to nurture independence, creativity, and confidence in young children. Candidates willing to demonstrate a long-term commitment (>1 year) for this position are strongly preferred.

Candidates should be career-minded, dedicated, professional, possess a high level of integrity, and be able to successfully collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration.

Our school offers a dynamic and progressive environment where the professional growth and realization of personal goals of all staff are supported and encouraged.

Since 1984, our community has offered an excellent educational environment to students from infants to eighth grade. We are now looking to expand to a second location.

Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree is preferable, as is some prior experience.

Candidates should be well versed in Dr. Montessori’s pedagogy for 9-12 education, and be experienced in preparing an environment to meet the developmental needs of this age child. In addition, our best candidate for this position will be able to do some teaching in our adolescent program, particularly in mathematics.
